NewAlpha Asset Management releases its fourth edition of the annual French FinTech mapping.

NewAlpha launched in 2015 the first French Venture Capital fund dedicated to European FinTech. Its  investment team of Fin & Tech expert is in touch with entrepreneurs and institutional players of the finance industry on a daily basis.

NewAlpha’s team analyzed several hundred companies and paints a representative picture of the French FinTech sector through this mapping updated in December 2020.

“The digital transformation of every economic player has reached an unprecedented pace during this very special 2020 year. Under these circumstances, the key role of the finance industry has proven to be fundamental and startups have been able to resist thanks to their structural assets. French FinTech significantly strengthened their strategic positioning, dynamism and international attractiveness significantly strengthened in 2020. This leads us to believe that the first French unicorns will emerge and join the 24 European FinTech unicorns, a number that has increased sixfold since 2016. More than ever, the French Fin&Tech scene shows great potential. »
Lior Derhy, Managing Partner at NewAlpha AM.

The 387 companies are French entrepreneurial FinTech companies which showed significant activity throughout 2020. These FinTech companies are transforming the banking, insurance and asset management activities by offering new financial products or digital solutions that enable financial industry players to optimize their business processes.
They are categorized by activity and seniority in order to measure their entrepreneurial dynamics over the last few years. We also provide a fundraising analysis by sector that highlights the trends in the FinTech scene
